Rieka v nás / River Within
Spinning a positive whirl
Initiative of wo~men who desire to embody and express the qualities of Water and wish to re~connect to the natural flow of life.
In 2025, we join the Global Water Dances movement to raise the tide of awareness of the importance of Water. We will perform on 14 June 2025 by river Nitra in Prievidza, Slovakia.
"It will be our humility, respect and change of attitude that can make space for healing and regeneration of the river and the environment along with Her. We come to the shore to let our bodies and voices be moved and realign with our environment. We start spinning a positive whirl to cleanse our waters, intentions and relationShips."
"Je to naša pokora, rešpekt a zmena prístupu, ktoré môžu vytvoriť priestor pre obnovu rieky a okolitého prostredia. Prichádzame na breh, aby sme dovolili svojim telám znovu sa zladiť s našim prirodzeným prostredím. Roztáčame vír pozitivity, ktorý vyčistí našu vodu, zámery a vzťahy."

Brownfields and Orchards
Rediscovering what matters
Upper Nitra, my home region, was severely altered by coal mining and other industries. In the process of talking to people of different generations and life experience, we learned about their values, attitudes, and understood better where we come from. We touched painful places, where nature as well as people's health has downgraded, but also opportunities for regeneration of the environment, as well as our way of thinking. Young people also got involved in this renewal of our hope in a truly just transition.

"Thousands of kilometers of underground tunnels were dug underneath our valley. A river that flows through it was poisoned. Toxic ashes keep falling on our soil from high chimneys that try to dominate the landscape... In order to heal the state of our environment and our own health, we need to change our extractive approach to the Earth, to each other and to ourselves. We come back to this place where we grew up, to rediscover what really matters."
"Tisíce kilometrov podzemných tunelov boli vykopané pod našou dolinou. Rieka, ktorá ňou tečie, bola otrávená. Toxický popol padá na našu pôdu z komínov, ktoré sa týčia nad krajinou... Aby sme uzdravili naše životné prostredie a seba, potrebujeme zmeniť svoj ťažiteľský prístup k Zemi, jeden k druhému aj k sebe samým. Vraciame sa na miesta, kde sme vyrástli, aby sme znovu objavili, na čom naozaj záleží."

Exploring and celebrating the area around Šancová street in Bratislava, Slovakia, by inviting local, regional and international artists and researchers to work with local citizens, initiatives and NGOs. Co-creating the program and weaving a thread of connection among local people and international guests.

A weekly jam session / open mic running from summer 2019 untill the pandemic finally took us apart. Founded by Zuzana "Vranka" Žiaková and Dominika Belanská in what used to be the community living room of Bystro NGO in Bratislava (SK).

POD PYRAMÍDOU
Urban garden under the Pyramid
One of the places where we grew tomatoes along with neighbourhood relationships. We learned much about gardening in the city, cross-sectoral collaboration, cultural organizing, balancing expectations... But most importantly, we showed that you can turn a closed, forgotten space full of pigeon shit into a place people love! If you dare to welcome and patiently nurture a caring community.
